Baby Number One Baby Boris
15/11/2008 15:30 By Eggbie
So I only just realised I had a blog on bounty which is pretty cool :) and since I spend some much time on here it's the prefect place to blog about this pregnancy.

I'm 22 years old, as student primary school teacher and pregnant with my first child who was a nice surprise :). I'm currently 14 weeks 2 days pregnant so still have a fair way to go. Baby is due 14th May 2009.

I had my first scan on 29th October and baby was prefect, measuring at exactly how far along I thought I was. Baby was so lazy though, could see the little heart beating away but Baby refused to move at all despite lots of prodding from midwife, we did finally get a short head shake but then Baby went back to sleep sucking their thumb.

I have to book a doctors appointment soon and my 16 weeks check up with the midwife but life and uni work is so busy at the moment I seem to keep running out of time

confused week by week emails
04/11/2008 18:58 By vivj
i went to hospital today after being reffered by mw and its been confirmed that babz is small he is only just within the gray area according to scan measurements, i have got to go back tomorrow to have his heart rate checked and was advised about movements ect. when i asked if babz was ok she said he was fine and because of how small he is they just want to take extra precautions. all this has made me do is worry so much coz im not quite sure why they are checking his heart rate. i have gotta go and have another scan in 2 weeks but apparently i have to go in on a reg basis to check his heart rate. i dont really know whats going on i just wondered if there was anyone who could offer some advice on this or knows what the procidure is or even simply why i am havin to go and have his heart beat checked coz im worried that something is wrong and they are not telling me.

thank you

Ashurst midwife centre natblog
04/11/2008 14:28 By natbod31
After birthing at the Princess Anne Hospital in Southampton, I was advised by one of the MCAs to transfer to Ashurst (New Forest) birth centre for post-natal care and support, where specialist midwives would  be on hand to help with the 'latching on' process. While the care provided at Broadlands ward was exceptional whilst I was in labour, the post-natal support is non-existent. I ended up having to phone my sister at midnight after my baby had slept for 6 hours without a feed and I wasn't sure whether to wake the baby or let it sleep...it just looked so peaceful!

The birth centre in Ashurst is simply amazing, although slightly underused. Having opened only a few months ago, I was surprised to be told that I was the only resident there. The rooms are on a par with a 4 star hotel, with DVD players, flat screen TVs, two cots (1 mobile and 1 bedside), baby bath and nappy disposal facilities. The view from the window overlooks the New Forest and while I was breastfeeding, I wa ...
